Only a year and a half in business when a global pandemic hits, and all businesswoman Rianna Moore kept hearing over and over again from government agencies she was dealing with and the courses she was doing was 'adapt to the situation'. So she did, and Luxe, a new all-natural range of brow and lash products was born in the lockdown and has been flying ever since.

The Glasson native, who owns and runs Luxe Dublin, a beauty studio based in Rathmines, Dublin offering bespoke lash and brow treatments, decided she wanted her range to be natural given the number of nasties in other products. During her research she was horrified to find some frightening ingredients like anti-freeze in nearly every lash, brow, and skincare product on the market, and she was determined to be different with better results from natural products.

“I just decided to work on my formulas (during the lockdown), and now I have my own range. They are all vegan, 100% organic, and handmade. All of the ingredients were ethically sourced from small businesses,” she told the Westmeath Independent recently.

The first product launched in April when her salon was closed, it was quickly followed by others, and there are now four in total – Revive Lash oil, brow balm, Sculpted clear styling soap, and a first in Ireland Sculpted brown (a brown styling soap).

“It's been such a success. They are really kicking off,” said Rianna excitedly on foot of a recent feature Tatler magazine and social media coverage.

Her products match some of the high-end products on the market, she explained, not only to repair, strengthen and condition your lashes and brows but they also contain some of the best anti-wrinkle ingredients on the market to repair and nourish skin too.

“The girls who have got them have had incredible results,” she enthused, adding that she has kept the price affordable with the lash serum retailing for €23, with the added bonus of great ingredients like Vitamin E, jojoba oil, argan oil, coconut oil, essential oils in the products.

Previously involved in retail management, fashion styling, and merchandising, Rianna fell in love with beauty as a young Irish dancer. A self-confessed lash and brow lover, she enjoyed beauty as a creative hobby for years and managed to do a plethora of courses and training in between her full-time job.

Aged just 23, she decided to strike out in a new direction, crediting Instagram for building up her Luxe salon business within weeks. Her attendance at the Women's Empowerment Summit also played a big part in getting her name out there in the initial stages. Rianna also paid tribute to her mother Amy, who runs Athlone Natural Health Clinic, close to Glasson, and her family as a big inspiration in her career.

Asked why brows are such a big part of the beauty routine in recent years, she replied: “It just kind of grew from Cara Delevingne and that look in the fashion industry. It went from the Victoria Beckham look with overplucked brows to the big brow look.”

And that big bushy brow look is not going anywhere for a while yet, according to Rianna, who offers a specialised service in her salon often working with a client for six months to get the desired look to frame the eyes and empower the client. She also specialises in the Indian art of hair removal threading.

Basking in the success of her new product launches, the Glasson native is not stopping there. Despite the Covid times we are living through she wants to expand the Luxe product range to other cosmetics, and move to a bigger salon in the near future.

Queried on her ultimate ambition, she quick as you like stated: “I want it to be a global brand.” With that kind of determination she is halfway there.
