Littering at local walking area highlighted

An increase in littering at Carricknaughton bog, near Clonown has been highlighted.

A popular area with walkers, one reader was horrified to find items like a large mirror, fridge, old TV, tail lights and light bulbs along with garden waste dumped there last week.

Rubbish was also dumped in a nearby drain, while an old barrel with bags of rubbish is also visible in the photos below..

Roscommon County Council has been notified about the recent littering.
