67 new cases across two local counties on Saturday

Some 40 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Westmeath during Saturday with 27 more in Roscommon.

The cases are among a new record total of 1,283 new cases confirmed by midnight Saturday.

There has also been three additional deaths related to COVID-19.

There has been a total of 1,852 COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland.

As of midnight Saturday, there were 1,283 confirmed cases of COVID-19. There is now a total of 49,962 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland.

There have been 1,059 cases in Westmeath and 634 in Roscommon to date.

Of the 1,283 new cases notified, 68% are under 45 years of age and the median age is 31 years old

408 of the cases were in Dublin, 156 in Cork, 88 in Kildare, 80 in Meath, 55 in Limerick and the remaining 496 cases were spread across 21 counties.

As of 2pm Sunday 277 COVID-19 patients were hospitalised, of which 33 were in ICU. 17 additional hospitalisations were in the past 24 hours.
