Marian O’Brien, Rosmore, Moate

Marian O’Brien, of Rosmore. Moate died on Monday, October 26, peacefully, at home, after a long illness borne with great dignity.

She is sadly missed by her loving sisters, Bridie, Nuala, Teresa, Carmel, Patricia and Finola, brothers Tom. Michael, Ricky and Paul, aunt Lily, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

A private funeral will take place for Marian tomorrow (Wednesday) at 12 noon in The Carmelite Church, Moate, with burial afterwards in Rosemount Cemetery.

Aidan Sherlock, Marine View, Athlone/Ballaghadereen, Roscommon

Aidan Sherlock, 6th Infantry Battalion, Marine View, Athlone, and formerly of Edmondstown, Ballaghadereen, Co. Roscommon, died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 25.

He is predeceased by his beloved daughter, Ann Marie, brothers Gerry and P, and will be sadly missed by his loving daughters Louise and Valerie, sons Alan, Peter, Aidan Jnr and James, sister Mary, brothers Peter and John, ex-wife Bernie, grandchildren, sons-in-law Keith, Brendan and Oliver, daughters-in-law Denise, Claire and Jenny, nephews, nieces, in-laws, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

A private family funeral will take place for Aidan, and the Funeral Mass will be live streamed on the following link tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10.30am on https://www.churchservices.tv/athlonestmarys

For those who wish to attend the burial, Aidan’s Funeral Cortége will arrive in Coosan Cemetery at approximately 12 noon tomorrow (Wednesday).

Adeline Whelan, Knockamane, Kilbehenny, Cork/Rahara, Roscommon

Adeline Whelan (nee McKeon), of Knockamane, Kilbehenny, and late of Rahara, Roscommon, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 25.

She was the devoted wife of the late James and wonderful mother and best friend of Michael and Ann (McNamara). She will be deeply missed by her sisters May and Lily, brothers Sonny and James, son-in-law Jerry McNamara, grandchildren and great grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Adeline’s Funeral Mass, in the presence of family and close friends only, will take place today (Tuesday) at 12 noon in St. Joseph’s Church, Kilbehenny, Cork.

Mary Harrington, Cuilmore, Bealnamulla, Athlone, Co. Roscommon

Mary Harrington, nee Collins, (TCRG, Collins School of Irish Dancing), Cuilmore, Bealnmaulla, Athlone passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 25, surrounded by her loving family, in the tender care of the doctors, nurses and staff at the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore.

She is predeceased by her granddaughter Grace, parents Nan and Joe Sharkey, father John Collins and brother Paddy and is sadly missed by her loving husband Billy, daughters Aisling, Sinead and Frances, sons in law Dermot and Paul, grandchildren Ruairí, Fionn, Savannah and Isobel, brother Noel, sisters Anne and Phyllis, cousin Muriel, extended family, neighbours and friends.

A private Funeral Mass for family only will take place today (Tuesday) at 11am in St. Ronan’s Church, Taughmaconnell with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Sean Coyle, Ardkeenan, Drum, Athlone, Co. Roscommon

Sean Coyle, formerly of Hill of Berries, Athlone and Lacken, Rahara, Co. Roscommon died suddenly at home on Sunday, October 25.

He is predeceased by his wife Kay and brother Anthony and will be sadly missed by his loving wife Pat, children David, Fergal, Louise, Nigel, Maria and John, sons in law, daughters in law, grandchildren, brothers Frank and Dermot, sister Marian, brother in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends, including all in the Drum Heritage Group.

Brendan McDermott, London, and formerly of Portrun, Ballymurray, Roscommon

Brendan McDermott, London and late of Portrun, Ballymurray, Co. Roscommon passed away on Monday, October 19.

He is predeceased by his parents, Paddy Joe and Maureen, brothers Vincent, Dermot, Emmet, Oliver & Anthony, sister Sheila and nephew Niall. He will be very sadly missed by his brother Paddy, sisters Lily, Carmel, Teresa and Mai, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends both in Ireland and the U.K.

Brendan’s cremation will take place privately in London and his ashes will be taken back to Gailey Cemetery, Knockcroghery for burial at a later date.
