Local auctioneer opens new office in Castlemaine Street

In a year that is difficult for many businesses, it is quite a feat that Mark Nestor Property Services has opened up a new office in Castlemaine Street, Athlone.

Originally having window space in Moate, the property market in Athlone and surrounding areas is so positive that the business has been able to open the new office.

“We are a younger firm, and we work in a different way perhaps to other auctioneers nearby, and it’s working out brilliantly. The new office has been able to alleviate some pressure and help us out a lot,” Mark says.

“We’re the number one agent on daft.ie locally, and our focus is online and using new technologies for the property market.”

“A lot of our sales are coming off-market, and the ones that do make it to market are often being sold within a week. It really is as strong as it’s ever been,” adds Mark.

He puts some of the success down to working from home, with people now realising that there is less need to be located in the bigger cities of Ireland such as Dublin, Cork, Galway, and Limerick.

“With the first lockdown, working from home was new and people weren’t sure how that was going to work out. Now though, we all know that we can work from home, and it could be around for a long time into the future, so people are moving out of the cities or returning to their hometowns.

“Athlone, Moate, Ballymahon, and the surrounding areas have great amenities and facilities, and people can stay connected. The first lockdown was meant to impact greatly, but we’re seeing an increased interest in properties.”

The new office opened in October, and Mark is looking forward to meeting new clients and giving them the benefit of his local experience.

The local business offers sales, rentals, valuations, and more and can be found on the www.marknestor.ie website.
