Covid has helped ‘me put more time into my own music’

Tubber's up and coming singer/songwriter Adrian Hiney has been busy despite Covid-19 and recently released his self-penned fifth single of 2020 'Be Mine' recorded from his very own studio. A guitar-driven number that has hints of US rockers Matchbox Twenty, and country mega-star Thomas Rhett, 'Be Mine', nonetheless, remains perfectly true to a sound and style the talented musician has been perfecting throughout the strangest of years.

*What's your first musical memory?
Learning the button accordion when I was 7.
*How has Covid-19 affected your musical direction?
It’s helped because I can put more time into my own music with writing and recording.
*What do you most miss about performing live?
The atmosphere and the social aspect to it.
*How did you continue to stay creative and motivated musicwise during the lockdowns?
I had a lot of music and songs wrote from a couple of years ago so I just started recording them and left myself loads to work with.
*Is music and the arts being supported enough by the government?
No. I think we have been left high and dry.
*What have your learnt about yourself since coronavirus has entered our everyday lives?
I’ve learnt that we just need to get on with things and this will eventually pass.
*What kind of music scene do you envisage in 2021?
Hopefully we might be back playing and going to gigs and festivals by Summer 2021.
*Three things that kept you amused throughout the pandemic?
My dog Bella, recording + golf.
*Where do you find musical inspiration?
Out walking the dog and it's nice and quiet in the woods.
*Name your three biggest musical influences?
Keith Urban, The Eagles, Prince.
*Best musical advice ever given?
Entertain, not educate.
*Best thing about the Midlands?
Turf.
*What's your hopes and ambitions for 2021?
I hope to be back playing a few gigs.
