AIT Sport gym receives top tier national quality award

AIT Sport Gym has been awarded the top tier “outstanding” accolade at the National Quality Standard Awards, which it received for its dedication and commitment to operational excellence.

The National Quality Standard Awards (formerly the White Flag Awards), conferred by Ireland Active, are awarded to leisure and fitness facilities that demonstrate exceptional standards of customer service, safety, and hygiene.

This is the first time that AIT Sport Gym has been audited for the highly sought after and respected award, which is reserved for facilities that meet an exacting 250 quality-based criteria.

Congratulating the AIT Sport team, AIT Commercial Manager Paul Coburn said the award was a tribute to their “dedication and professionalism” and commitment to maintaining the highest operational standards in the country.

“We set out to create the best gym in the country for our members and this award will spur us on even more,” he explained.

“The team at AIT Sport is extremely proud to have received the ‘Outstanding’ award, as it reflects our commitment to consistently delivering at the highest operational standards in the industry,” he continued.

Welcoming news of the award, AIT Sport operations manager Marian Kennedy said: “This award demonstrates our commitment and dedication to AIT Sport and all of our members. We are so proud to be recognised for the year-round hard work and dedication of our amazing team. Without them, this would not have been possible.”

Speaking of the decision to bestow AIT Sport with the top-tier award, the National Quality Standards auditor complimented the team’s preparedness, both in terms of online and on-site audits, and said that the supplied documentation was of a high level.

The National Quality Standard Awards are the only industry-specific awards for the leisure, health and fitness sector in Ireland.

Winner of The Sunday Times Institute of the Year in 2020 and 2018, AIT hopes to open its doors as the country’s third technological university in September 2021.
