Most popular baby names in Westmeath revealed

The most popular boys’ name in Westmeath has been revealed by the Central Statistics Office to be Jack, while the most popular girls’ name in the county is Lucy.

This falls in line with the national outlook, where Jack has remained the most popular boys’ name in the country since 2007, with the exception of 2016, while Lucy increased in popularity from the eleventh most popular name in 2019 to the ninth in 2020.

Grace was the most popular name for girls’ in 2020 across the country.

In Roscommon, the most popular boys’ names in the county were Charlie, Michael and Noah, while the most popular girls’ name was Saoirse.

In the Midlands regional authority, name registrations for Jack stood at 2.48%, while Grace stood at 2.12%.

Other boys’ names that made the top ten nationally include James, Noah, Daniel, Conor and Finn, while Fiadh, Emily, Sophie, Ava and Amelia rounded out the girl’s list.
