Roscommon to face Galway for place in Connacht final

Roscommon have been drawn at home against Galway in this year's Connacht senior football championship semi-final.

The fixture, which came out of the draw on RTE's Six One News this evening, is a repeat of the Connacht final pairing for four years in a row between 2016 and 2019.

The spoils were evenly shared in those deciders, with both counties coming out on top on two occasions.

On the other side of the draw, Mayo were drawn against Sligo in the Connacht quarter-final, with the winners taking on Leitrim at the last-four stage.

Like last year, the football championship will operate on a knockout basis with no 'back door' system.

The dates, times and venues for the championship games have not yet been announced.

Westmeath will learn the identity of their opponents in the Leinster championship tomorrow (Tuesday) morning, when that draw is made on RTE's Morning Ireland radio programme.
