Works begin to lower dangerous hill

Local councillor John Dolan has welcomed the starting of roadworks to lower another dangerous hill.

"I want to welcome this work to lower a dangerous hill on the road in Glenwood. I had asked for two dangerous hills on this road to be lowered as this is proving a very popular route to access the Greenway and has seen volumes of cars and cyclists increase recently," said Cllr Dolan.

"I had asked for these to be lowered and last year the council dealt with the one nearer Baylin, and committed to tackling this one this year. I want to thank council engineer Denis Sloyan and the council staff for the works, and also thank the local residents for their patience while the works are being completed," continued Cllr Dolan.

"Hopefully, this road will be a safer road for all users as there will be less problems with users seeing each other," concluded Cllr Dolan (FG).
