Two new ways to access high speed broadband in South Roscommon

Roscommon County Council is now taking bookings for two new Broadband Connection Points (BCP) in Kiltoom and Brideswell which will provide high-speed broadband for remote working, study or personal use.

The BCPs in Kiltoom Parish Hall and Cam Community and Sports Centre are among eight broadband connection points in Roscommon as part of the Department of Rural and Community Development's Connected Communities Plan.

They are public locations that have been selected by the local authority to bring high-speed connectivity to rural areas in advance of the National Broadband Plan rollout.

The two South Roscommon Broadband Connection Points will have up to 150Mb high-speed Vodafone broadband, with indoor and outdoor access for the community.

Each location has been fitted out with furniture and desks to facilitate remote working, studying, online classes or other activities which require high-speed broadband.

It's hoped people living in the Kiltoom and Brideswell areas or visitors/tourists will use their local BCP, which will be managed locally, for internet use.
