A welcoming place for those still learning about technology

If you need assistance or guidance on anything technological, then don't be embarrassed about asking!

That's the message from local IT store Recharge-IT, which recently celebrated its first anniversary in Athlone. Owned by Athlone native Pearse Hegarty, Recharge-IT is conveniently located in the centre of Athlone at 10 Sean Costello St, almost directly opposite the front entrance to Dunnes Stores in Irishtown.

It specialises in phone sales, repairs and accessories, laptop sales and repairs and much more. It also offers printing, scanning and photocopying services to the general public.

Recharge-IT prides itself on being a welcoming place for people whose knowledge of technology and phones may be limited - and staff are more than happy to deal with all queries and problems.

Westmeath Independent columnist Jean Farrell recently wrote of her experience. “Like many of you, computers are relatively new to me. I can manage mine most of the time. However, due to us moving furniture lately all plugs had to be pulled out of their sockets. When I plugged them all in again I was unable to connect to Wi-Fi. This was very frustrating. Who can help me, I wondered? I remembered a friend had told me about Recharge-IT and about how friendly and helpful the young owner is.

“I called in and explained my problem to the owner, Pearse Hegarty. The very next day, at the appointed time, he came to my house and in a very short time he had me connected to Wi-Fi again. The problem was caused because I had made a very stupid mistake when I tried to re-connect all the gadgets.

“Now, here is a very important point. Pearse didn’t make me feel one bit foolish. He was very friendly, kind and approachable, as well as thoroughly knowing his business. “Many of you, like me, might need help sometime, so I am very happy to recommend him and give you his details here.”

It's a testament to the customer-orientated approach at Recharge-IT. In particular, they offer a complimentary service of transferring all data, contacts and photos onto phones purchased in the store.

This helps to preserve precious memories for people and provides a real peace of mind for customers.

The Athlone outlet is the second Recharge-IT store in the midlands. With an outlet in Mullingar since 2009, Recharge-IT has already firmly established itself as a reliable Irish-owned company with a strong emphasis on customer service. Dealing in new and pre-owned phones, across all the major brands including Apple, Samsung, Huawei and Redmi, Recharge-IT is known as a market leader in phones in the region.

With five experienced technicians employed across its Athlone and Mullingar stores, it also offers professional advice and a quick turnaround time on phone repairs at competitive prices.

It boasts a wide range of laptops for sale, both new, and refurbished and also carries out laptop repairs. Recharge-IT's Christmas club will get underway shortly, allowing customers to save for all stock, including phones or laptops, through five equal instalments (each of 20%) paid in the run up to Christmas.

Visitors to the Sean Costello Street store can also view a range of phone accessories including covers and cases in a shop premises where COVID-19 guidelines and regulations are strictly enforced.
