Candlelight walk of hope across Athlone bridge this Halloween

A candlelight walk across the bridge over the Shannon in Athlone as a demonstration of support and hope for those who have lost loved ones to suicide and to Covid will take place on Sunday, October, 31 at 7pm.

Hope Trust together with people of faith is inviting and encouraging people to join the candelight walk if they believe that there is hope for the future. Last year Hope Trust asked people in the Midlands to light a candle and place it in their windows as a sign of hope in the darkness.

In a season when many are focused on the hopelessness of death, Hope Trust feels it important to encourage those who are struggling to find hope for the future. Many have lost loved ones to suicide and at present, to Covid.

Many are isolated and overwhelmed with grief. It is a time when those who have faith in God can release prayers of comfort and consolation and provide a community of care to those who are suffering. For those who are discouraged at this time Hope Trust urge you not to give up, but call out to others who care.
