Carty called up as Sexton ruled out for Argentina game

Connacht’s Jack Carty has joined the Ireland squad for the final week of the Autumn Nations Series which culminates with this Sunday's game against Argentina.

The Athlone man's elevation to the squad comes after captain Johnny Sexton twisted a knee and ankle in Saturday's fantastic victory over New Zealand which will rule him out of action for between four to six weeks.

Carty (29) won the last of his ten Ireland caps against Russia in the 2019 World Cup, and has yet to line out in for Ireland in the Andy Farrell era.

The team for the match (Sunday, 2.15pm, live on RTÉ) against Mario Ledesma's side is expected to be named on Friday.

Another great crowd is expected at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday with over 45,000 tickets sold to date.

Los Pumas were last in Dublin in 2018 when Ireland emerged the victors, 28-17.
