Athlone Gardai issue warning over sale of faulty hair straighteners

A Garda warning has been issued in the Athlone area in relation to a person selling hair straighteners which are faulty and could cause injury.

In a social media post on Thursday afternoon, An Garda Síochána in Westmeath stated that they wished to warn people in Athlone that there was a person selling "selling Alterego hair straighteners for €10."

"These straighteners were taken from the recycling centre in Athlone. They were put there as they were found to be faulty and may cause injury."

The Gardai warning urged people not to buy or use these hair straighteners as they are hazardous.

The matter is being investigated and anyone with information in relation to it is being asked to contact Athlone Garda Station on 09064 98550.
