Extra parking plan at Portrunny

Roscommon County Council is proposing to provide a new car and boat trailer parking area in the picturesque lakeside area of Portrunny, just five kilometres from Knockcroghery.

The new facility is earmarked for the Lackan townland, the planning application on the Roscommon County Council website indicates, and the public can make submissions on the proposal up until January 21 next year.

No other documents or details in relation to the project have been uploaded as of yet in relation to the application, lodged on December 9 last. A decision date is listed for February 11 in 2022.

Meanwhile, a company called Spaulding Systems Limited has applied for approval to press ahead with the construction of a mixed-use commercial unit, incorporating light industrial use and office space in Monksland.

A new site entrance, car parking area, and site works also form part of the application lodged on December 22.

No other details were available at the time of going to press as no documents have been uploaded on the council website in relation to the application.

Roscommon County Council is due to announce a decision by February 24.
