Athlone artist's 2022 calendar raises over €2,000 for local hospice

Athlone artist Anna Boles has raised over €2,000 for the South Westmeath Hospice through sales of her popular art calendar for 2022.

In recent years Anna has been publishing a calendar featuring her work and has been donating 25% of the sales income from the calendars to a chosen charity.

This was the fifth year of the initiative which has now raised close to €8,000 for causes such as the Hospice, Pieta House and Barnardos.

Anna said she was looking forward to handing over a cheque for €2,235 to the South Westmeath Hospice Committee next week.

"A huge thanks to all involved," she said. "For me, I'm lucky as the painting is the easy part. The real praise goes to those who bought the calendar, local businesses who sponsored the calendar this year, and the dedication of businesses throughout the town who continue to sell these calendars for me on a yearly basis.

"They are the main reason this amount has been raised. It's such a privilege for me that others can benefit from my love of painting. I'm forever grateful. Thank you!"

Anna wished to thank the local businesses and venues who supported her initiative by selling or sponsoring the calendar.

Her sponsors were: Cunningham's Pharmacy, Topline Heavins & Euronics, Sean's Bar, Dooleys Albany, Dean Crowe Theatre, Glasson Craft Gallery, Ganlys Athlone Longford Mountbellew, Fernhill Garden Centre Athlone, Grovelands Childcare, Athlone Jokeshop & Costume Hire, Shamrock Lodge Hotel and Burgess, Athlone.

In addition to the above premises, the calendar was on sale in: Athlone Towncentre Post Offce, Starbucks, Midland Photo Shop, Athlone Chiropractic Care, Beans & Leaves, Poppy Fields Cafe, and Athlone Picture Framing.
