Rather unsettled weather conditions over the coming days with blustery winds and occasional outbreaks of rain. That's the latest forecast from Met Éireann.

This morning overnight mist and drizzle clearing to give a mostly dry day with bright spells of winter sunshine developing - just isolated showers. However, dull and damp conditions may linger for a time in the south. Feeling pleasant in sunshine with top temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees, in no more than moderate west to northwest breezes.

Cold and dry tonight under broken cloud. Frost and possible icy patches will develop, along with some mist or fog. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees, in light variable mainly southerly breezes.

Some early morning sunshine at first on Friday with any frost or fog patches clearing. However, cloud will build with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle developing. Amounts though will be fairly small away from Atlantic counties with the chance of some brighter spells across the midlands and east. Mild with top temperatures ranging 10 to 13 degrees, in moderate, occasionally fresh, west to southwest breezes.

A mild, cloudy and breezy night Friday with patchy outbreaks of rain and drizzle. More persistent rain will move into the northwest towards morning. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in brisk westerly winds.

Saturday is promised a mostly cloudy and breezy start with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle. However, drier brighter weather will follow from the northwest in the afternoon as sunny spells develop. Very mild with highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees. Moderate to fresh westerly winds will ease as the rain clears away.

Dry, cold and clear overnight on Saturday with some frost early on. Becoming cloudy overnight with patchy drizzle developing in the west and southwest. Lowest temperatures generally of 0 to 4 degrees in light variable or southerly breezes.

Sunday is expected to be a windy day with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, heaviest in the afternoon, especially across the west and northwest. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees in fresh to strong southwest winds, later veering westerly.

Early next week: Fresh on Monday with sunshine and well scattered blustery showers, followed by milder weather on Tuesday but with blustery falls of rain.
