Athlone Lock to close temporarily next week
Athlone Lock will be closed to boat traffic for two days next week, Waterways Ireland has announced.
The closure will take place on Thursday and Friday next, February 17 and 18.
Waterways Ireland said the closure was "to facilitate the relocation the Hydraulic and Electrical services as part of the flood relief works."
It thanked boat owners on the Shannon for their co-operation.
