New driving school launches in Athlone

Athlone man John Kelly has set up his own driving school called Kellys School of Motoring.

Mr Kelly, from St Joseph's Villas, is an Approved Driving Instructor with the Road Safety Authority and is now providing lessons for car drivers.

He previously worked in the transport unit in the Defence Forces and operated his own bus company, JFK Coaches, for 17 years which specialised in tourism, events and school runs.

Mr Kelly ran his own driving course while he worked in the army and spent 15 years training young drivers. His students achieved very high pass rates and he came third place in a driving instructor's course in the army.

He also completed a driving course in Mullingar and finished in first place.

The business base is at John's home at 13 St Joseph's Villas, Roscommon Road, Athlone, N37 VH99.
