Local event to mark Poetry Day Ireland

The public is invited to an event in Athlone's Aidan Heavey Library to mark Poetry Day Ireland later this month.

Poetry in the Park group presents 'Written in the Stars' for Poetry Day Ireland, which takes place on Thursday, April 28 throughout the land.

The theme chosen for this event is about fate, predestination, and what is written in the stars.

At 5pm indoors in the reading area of the library, gather to celebrate the spoken word and all are welcome to read, recite, or listen to verse about destiny. All are welcome to come along.

Poetry in the Park is a community event, open to all ages and nationalities. It is normally held on the first Sunday of every month at 2pm, in Burgess Park, Athlone.
