Council wants to gauge people's interest in affordable housing

Westmeath County Council has launched a survey to gauge the level of interest in local authority affordable dwellings.

The council issued this statement a short while ago:

Affordable Housing Interest Survey

Westmeath County Council, in line with Housing for All, is actively considering the development of affordable housing over the coming years at a number of locations in the County. Notwithstanding the eligibility criteria that will be set down in Regulations for any scheme, the Council wishes to establish the level of interest in Local Authority provided affordable dwellings.

This is a survey of interest in affordable housing purchase only and for the purpose of gathering information and determining potential levels of interest at various locations within the County of Westmeath. The information will be used to inform the Council on the level of demand and locations for affordable houses.

Availability of any affordable housing schemes progressed by the Council in the future will be advertised separately, and a formal application process will apply in accordance with the legislation in place at that time.
