Some €200k worth of drugs seized at cannabis growhouse

A cannabis growhouse and drugs worth €200,000 were discovered during a search of a premises in Tyrrellspass yesterday evening.

Following a tip off from the public about suspicious behaviour, Gardaí entered a property at around 6.30pm and discovered approximately 260 cannabis herb plants with an estimated value of around €200,000 in a shed, along with tools and moblie phones. A car was also seized at the location.

No arrests have been made at this time.

A garda spokesperson said that the investigation is ongoing and appealed to members of the public who may noticed anything suspicious in the Tyrrellspass area in the last number of weeks to contact Mullingar Garda Station.

The seizure is one of the biggest in the Mullingar Garda District in recent years.
