One-day Athlone Film Festival returns this Sunday

An Athlone Film Festival will take place, for the first time since the pandemic, this Sunday afternoon (May 8).

It's being held in the Athlone IMC Cinema from 4pm to 6pm and will feature six award-winning short films from emerging and new Irish filmmakers of the national film school at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Dún Laoghaire.

The event is attractively priced, with a €5 ticket earning admission to see all six short films, which are being shown back-to-back and will be followed by a brief panel discussion involving crew members from some of the films.

Athlone's David Toolan is among the filmmakers whose work is being shown on the day. Two films which David produced, Real Horrorshow and Tears To The Sea, are included in the line-up.

Also being shown are: As the Devil Drives; Starry Night; The Sunny Side Up; and Don't Sing.

Tickets are now available at the Athlone IMC Cinema, Tullamore IMC Cinema, the Drama Festival hub in the Radisson hotel, or online at this link.
