Two South Westmeath roads to close for resurfacing this week

Two South Westmeath roads -- one in the Moate area and one in the Mount Temple area -- will close temporarily this week to facilitate resurfacing works.

Westmeath County Council announced that tomorrow (Tuesday, May 10) the L1305 (Moate to Rosemount road) would be closed at Kilnahinch/Toorfelim, Moate.

The following day, Wednesday, the L1433 (Pike Cross to Mount Temple road) is to close at Rathduff, Mount Temple.

The council said these closures were to facilitate surfacing works that would be carried out by a contractor on its behalf.

The works are due to commence each day at 8am and finish each day at 6pm.

"These sections of road will be closed to traffic for the duration of the works, with a traffic diversion in place. The roads will reopen to traffic on completion of works each day," said the council.

The local authority apologised to the public for any inconvenience the closures may cause.
