DPD's Croagh Patrick climb raises €4,500 for local IWA
DPD recently presented presented the Irish Wheelchair Association in Athlone with a cheque for €4,500, raised by staff as part of a recent fundraising challenge within the company.
DPD staff in Athlone came together recently to face Croagh Patrick, the 764m climb in Co Mayo in aid of the Irish Wheelchair Association.
DPD have a long history of supporting IWA services and last week DPD representatives Carmel Goldrick and Michael Ryan visited IWA in Athlone to present the cheque and meet some of the staff and service users and catch up on the work of IWA.
Commenting on the achievement, Joanne Ryan, Corporate & Trusts Manager of Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) said: “Irish Wheelchair Association are so delighted to have the continued support of DPD. After two years of cancelled and deferred fundraising events, it is incredible to see the team in DPD pull together and raise so much money to support the work of IWA nationwide. We are truly grateful and look forward to seeing events like this reignite across the country.”
