Celebrating African heroes

As part of Africa Day celebration in Westmeath, Athlone Women's Forum, in conjunction with Irish Day, Africa Day Ireland and Westmeath County Council, is hosting an online virtual event on Friday, June 3, at 4pm. The theme of this year's celebration is "Celebrating African heroes''.

The aim of this event is to empower Africans living in Ireland through the provision of information on the valuable contributions of some African heroes in different sectors of life in Africa and globally.

A panel of Africans from different regions of Africa will present facts relating to their chosen hero followed by discussion of their impact on the growth and development of the continent.

Panellists include Kemi Awogboro, Alexia Press Dube, Olukayode Jamgbadi, Tina Adagun and Oyeyemi Onipede.
