Works ongoing to repair Knockcroghery burst

Crews are on site in Knockcroghery this afternoon repairing a burst watermain.

Irish Water and Roscommon County Council are working to restore the water to the Knockcroghery Water Supply Scheme as quickly as possible.

Every effort is being made to maintain supply to as many customers as possible but the burst is impacting water supply to customers in Lecarrow, St Johns, Corrigeen and surrounding areas.

Repairs are expected to be complete by 4pm today. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.

Ger Greally, Regional Operations Lead with Irish Water, thanked customers for their understanding while works continue this afternoon.

“We understand the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers and we appreciate their patience. The repairs in the Knockcroghery area are being conducted as quickly as possible to minimise disruption to the community and restore water for all customers.”

"Vulnerable customers who have registered with Irish Water receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours."
