Dull and damp to start but brighter later

Starting out dull and damp today with locally wet conditions. Whilst it will become drier through the afternoon, it will remain rather cloudy with possible showers following. Some bright or sunny spells may break through later though. Highest temperatures will range 16 to 19 degrees in just light northwest or variable breezes.

Calm into tonight too, but generally damp and misty with patchy outbreaks of drizzle. Lowest temperatures will range 10 to 12 degrees in mostly light northerly breezes.

Similarly tomorrow Wednesday will begin on a dull note with patches of mist and drizzle, all in just light westerly or variable breezes. An improvement into the afternoon however as sunny spells break through. Becoming mostly dry too, apart from well scattered showers across the south and east. Feeling warm in sunshine with highest temperatures of 16 to 22 degrees, best values away from the northwest.

Dry and clear in most areas on Wednesday night. Cloud will increase in from the west with some patchy light rain or drizzle developing along coasts near morning. Lows not falling below 9 to 13 degrees in light westerly or variable breezes.

Quite cloudy again on Thursday with some patchy outbreaks of light rain or drizzle during the morning. Becoming drier and brighter later in the afternoon and through the evening hours. Highest temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees, warmest in the southeast in light to moderate westerly winds.

Cloud will build in from the west Thursday night as patchy rain reaches Atlantic coasts. Mild with temperatures generally not falling below 9 to 13 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly breezes.

Friday looks to be a wet day with a band of rain spreading west through the country, followed by showers and sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 with light to moderate southerly winds.

Saturday and Sunday look to be quite unsettled with low pressure dominating the weather over Ireland, bringing showers or longer spells of rain with temperatures in the mid to high teens, and moderate variable breezes.
