Covid outbreak closes local hospital ward to most visits

Due to an outbreak of COVID-19, access for visitors to St Teresa’s Ward at Roscommon University Hospital is currently limited to compassionate grounds only, it has been announced.

In a statement this afternoon, the Saolta Group, which operates the hospital, said visits should be arranged in advance with the nurse in charge.

Access for visitors to St Bridget’s Ward and St Coman’s Ward remains by appointment only. Visits must be pre-arranged by family members / visitors by contacting the ward or unit in advance.

Visitors will be required to follow public health guidance, including wearing a surgical mask and performing good hand hygiene regularly during their visit to the hospital.

Anyone planning to visit the hospital is asked to delay their visit if they have any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with anyone with COVID-19.
