Moate-based dance school members perform in The Helix

The Leinster School of Dance based in Moate and South Dublin recently took part in the Dance Platform event in The Helix in Dublin.

The young dancers performed two dances at the event, an acro dance and a lyrical piece. Eighteen female dancers from Moate and ten boys from Dublin between the ages of six and 12 participated in the event.

Dance Platform is an exciting new event designed to help dance schools across Ireland showcase their school in a professional theatre setting, allowing their students to shine on the stage and provide a platform to promote dance in Ireland as a fun art form.

The Leinster School of Dance runs weekly classes in classical ballet and acro dance from ages three and up every Tuesday in Tuar Ard Theatre, Moate.

Students in the school are also taking their ballet exams this month and a summer camp will be held from July 18-22. It’s a super exciting month ahead for Leinster School of Dance.
