Success for Athlone swimmers at Summer Nationals
Sixteen Athlone Swimming Club athletes competed at the recent Irish Division Two Summer Nationals with huge success achieved all round.
With a total of 64 swims entered, the club returned with 60 personal best times, 45 finalists and an impressive total of 24 medals won.
It was a highly enjoyable five days of swimming with so many exciting races and all of the club's competitors deserve a huge round of applause for doing themselves and their club proud.
Two 12-year-old athletes Darragh Flanagan and Fiachra Redington were swimming in the Division 1 Summer Nationals at this meet, so well done boys on your medals and outstanding performances and, no doubt, you both have so much potential heading into next season.
The club is very thankful to the team managers and all the parents who officiated throughout the week.
