TV details of European championships featuring Athlone's Robbie

Friends and relatives of Athlone swimmer Robbie Powell will be able to watch his involvement in the European Aquatics Championships in Rome on RTÉ television.

The championships, which started today (Thursday) are being broadcast on the RTÉ News Channel and on the RTÉ Player.

Robbie's participation begins early tomorrow morning, when he and fellow Irish swimmer Max McCusker take part in the 100m freestyle preliminaries, due to start at 8.07am (Irish time) on Friday.

The local 22-year-old is also set to compete in the 200m freestyle preliminaries at 8am this Sunday morning.

Coverage each morning on the RTÉ News channel begins at 8am.
