Second Apple Day event later this month

The Athlone Apples group will host their second Apple Day on Sunday, September 25th in the Franciscan Friary Orchard from 2-5pm.

This year's event will include apple pressing and everyone is invited to bring their own apples and bottles for juicing. Entertainment will be provided by local musicians, storytellers and performers and there will be lots of children's activities and treats! There will be a Harvest Feast Market and Picnic with lots of local food and hand-made crafts. Visitors are asked to bring along their best apple bake creations for the picnic!

Apple experts will also be on hand to any queries and apple trees will be available for sale.

The Athlone Apples group planted trees in local schools and residential areas around Athlone in 2021 and they have lots more trees ready to plant in public parks in Athlone this Winter.
