Golden Island exhibition for Baylin photographer

‘Playing with our senses’ is a new exhibition by Jimmy Keegan as he playfully scrolls through the many little passing moments, memories, history and traditions that shape how we as humans engage with each other and with nature. The exhibition opened on Friday in the exhibition space at Golden Island Shopping Centre, Athlone.

Jimmy Keegan grew up in Annagh, Ballykeeran, and attended the local Baylin school before serving his time as a carpenter and crafrsman. Jimmy was a very well known farmer, builder and employer in the midlands over the past 40 years having worked on many of the notable structures and projects which we see around us to this day.

From a young age he possessed a camera and recorded many images of friends, family and events giving homage to the quotation ‘’Photography is the story I fail to put into words’’.

Jimmy is currently Chairman of Midlands Photography Club. With an interest in all styles of photography it is through the medium of ‘’still life’’ that he most identifies as a means of expressing his thoughts, reflections and desires.

The exhibition will feature a collection of almost 30 images and will continue in the exhibition space in Golden Island Shopping centre until November.
