Construction to begin on 27-unit social housing scheme in Monksland

A contract has been signed this week for the construction of a 27-unit social housing development in Monksland, Athlone.

Roscommon County Council signed the contract on Monday with Longford-based Mulleady Properties for the "turnkey construction" of the 27 houses at the Esker Lawns development.

The project is to consist of of three and four-bedroom detached, semi-detached and terraced houses which will be built to an 'A' energy rating standard.

The new homes are due to be completed next year.

The project has been funded by the Social Housing Investment Programme (SHIP) operated by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
