October Bank Holiday weekend return for local singers festival

South Roscommon Singers Festival makes a welcome return to the local events calendar over the October Bank Holiday Weekend.

The popular festival kicks off on Friday, October 28 at 7.30pm with the official opening and a singing session in Murray's of Knockcroghery.

'Shamrocks from Geevagh’ is the title of a presentation by Carmel Gunning on Saturday, October 29 at 2pm in Ned's Bar, which will be followed later that event at 7.30pm by a singing session – 'The Big Ballads' in Murray's.

On Sunday, October 30 at 2pm in The Depot, Station House, the singing session concentrates on 'Songs of Your County and other Local Ballads'.

At 7.30pm, 'Songs of Percy French with David Larkin is followed by comic songs and storytelling session prior to a special presentation and finale at 10.30pm.
