Honours for Ballinahown and Athlone at Tidy Towns awards

Ballinahown once again earned the title as Westmeath tidiest town and village in the annual SuperValu Tidy Towns awards this lunchtime.

The picturesque location also won a silver medal, whilst Athlone won a gold medal.

Tyrrellspass and Mullingar both earned bronze medals.

Gold, silver and bronze medals for entrants with scores that fall within a set range from that year’s winning score.

Tyrrellspass was second in Westmeath, with Athlone in third place.

In Roscommon, the county winner was Keadue, with Castlecoote in second and Cloontuskert in third.

Keadue and Roscommon both received gold medals, Castlecoote got a silver medal, whilst Cloontuskert and Ballintubber both earned bronze medals.

Nationally, the overall winner was Trim.
