An evening of mythical storytelling and live music comes to Moate

Driven by a passion for Irish mythology, the sibling duo of Aron and Sorcha Hegarty who make up Candlelit Tales will provide an evening of exciting storytelling in Moate this week.

“We’re delighted to be bringing our storytelling and music style to Moate this November. And we are bringing stories to fit the season… Irish style!” say Aron and Sorcha. Candlelit Tales will be preforming ‘Fighting and Feasts’, which is described as live music, storytelling and ‘imbas’ which refers to the sacred inspiration possessed by ancient poets or filí.

A live original music score composed by a team of talented musicians also will drive the rhythm of the storytelling. Breathing life back into old stories Candlelit Tales promise to make the audience laugh, cry, or roar with the stories being told in an expressive, naturalistic, and modern style

Storytellers Aron and Sorcha said: “As we come closer together, we start to remember why we stayed apart for most of the rest of the year, as the biggest fights always follow the tastiest feasts!”

Candlelit Tales will take place on Thursday, November 10 at 7.30pm in Tuar Ard Arts Centre in Moate. This event is being offered free of charge, funded by the Creative Ireland Programme, Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
