Short Story award for local writer

Ballinasloe writer Nuala O'Connor won the Writing.ie Irish Short Story of the Year Award at the An Post Irish Book Awards last night.

Her story, 'This Small Giddy Life', was published in 'A Little Unsteadily Into Light: New Dementia-Inspired Fiction', an anthology of fourteen new short stories, commissioned by Jan Carson and Jane Lugea, and published by New Island Books.

Nuala O’Connor’s fifth novel NORA (New Island), about Nora Barnacle and James Joyce, was a Top 10 historical novel in the New York Times and the One Dublin One Book for 2022. Nuala curated the Ulysses 100 exhibition at MoLI, –Love, Says Bloom.
