Kilmartin N6’s ‘Give Back Friday’ to help Midland Simon Community

Kilmartin N6 Service Station, Dublin Road, Athlone is hosting a special fundraising event on Friday, December 16. The N6 will cover the cost of every coffee & tea (sit-down or takeaway) purchased from 8am to 7pm, and customers will be invited to donate the cost to Midlands Simon Community.

The idea behind this innovative initiative is to give back to the local community and support those who may find things difficult this Christmas.

Damian Kilmartin explained: “We are all very much aware of the difficulties facing individuals and families locally this Christmas. As a family-run business, we have a longstanding relationship with Midlands Simon community. We are delighted to partner with them for Give Back Friday. It’s our way of giving back by raising funds to support our local community”

Midlands Simon Community provides vital services in Athlone and Westmeath including the provision of the only emergency accommodation service for single men in Westmeath, Emergency Accommodation Service open 24/7, Out Of Hours Service providing support to rough sleepers operating 24/7, and Housing with Support Service supporting twenty seven households. In addition, last year twelve new homes were provided for people in need of housing.

Tony O'Riordan, CEO of Midland Simon, outlined: “Unfortunately Midlands Simon Community has had to expand its services to meet the increasing demand for services in Athlone and Westmeath.

The Give Back Friday initiative being proposed by the Kilmartin family at the Kilmartin N6 Service Station is a fantastic idea and provides an opportunity to support the local response to homelessness and 100% of the money raised will be used to fund local services”

There will be representatives from Midlands Simon Community in the store on the day, and all donations are greatly appreciated.
