Works at The Strand to close traffic for ten day period

Ongoing works being undertaken by the OPW will close traffic at The Strand, Athlone for ten days starting from tomorrow (Tuesday.)

It will be closed to traffic from its junction with Friary Lane to its junction with Griffith Street from Tuesday, January 10 until Friday, January 20. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

To allow local access for the residents of Griffith Street and Wolfe Tone Terrace, the one-way system on Griffith Street will be suspended for the duration of the works and a two-way temporary traffic management system will be in operation.

Westmeath County Council apologise for any inconvenience caused.
