Good news on condition of soldier injured in Lebanon
The Defence Forces have today confirmed that the soldier who was critically injured in the attack on Irish peacekeepers in Lebanon on Wednesday, December 13, is now in a stable condition.
The statement said that Trooper Shane Kearney is continuing his recovery in Beaumont hospital.
"He is responding very well to treatment and is no longer critical with his condition now described as stable.
"The medical staff are satisfied with his continued and steady progress.
"The Defence Forces and Tpr Shane Kearney’s family wish to thank everyone for all the support that they continue to receive."
Tpr Kearney's colleage Private Sean Rooney was killed in the attack.
