Crossfit Croí Open Day on February 25 next

Advertorial

As the New Year's resolutions start to fade into the back of many minds, the crew at Crossfit Croí have been making significant changes this year as they move into a new, larger facility in Blyry Commercial Park, conveniently located off the M6 motorway and easily accessed on the main entry route to the park.

The team of coaches at Crossfit Croí do not believe in trying to change yourself; rather they believe that every person should strive to be the best version of themselves they can be. That comes down to taking care of yourself as a whole - mind, body and soul. Of course, Crossfit Croí can help you with all of that, you just need to make that first call. Whether you need some advice as to what class to choose for your needs, if it is a group class or a one-to-one session, some nutritional advice and coaching, some yoga classes, flexibility classes, a massage or facial, well here at Crossfit Croí the team can take care of it all.

The timetable has increased this year too, with some new classes added to cater for new clients. There is an active age class twice weekly where you can keep your joints and muscles working at a pace that suits you before cooling down afterwards with some tea and treats.

Also, back on the schedule is a Ladies Only fitness class - again paced to suit each individual's goals and abilities. Circuits/HIIT classes have also made a welcome return to the timetable.

Our ever popular yoga classes have also returned with additional spaces now available and additional classes added to the schedule. These classes include breathwork and stretches, finishing with relaxation. The classes are suitable for all levels, the benefits of yoga are many and varied. It is also a good first step in taking care of yourself and taking time away each week from the stresses of life.

In addition there are flexibility classes hosted by Anita Sheerin of Motionfit Global, who is a strength and flexibility specialist. Her group flexibility classes emphasise the importance of stretching and flexibility, and will guide you in how use the full range of motion in order to maximise sports performance, and to alleviate stiff aches/pains in everyday life. She also offers personal training, both in Crossfit Croí and online, which are suitable for beginners to advanced.

With the GAA season kicking off, team Strength and Conditioning is also restarting and the team at Crossfit Croí is hoping for repeat successes again this year, on foot of the wonderful successive county wins from the Senior Ladies in Clann na nGael.

Crossfit Croí was established back in 2016 by Ursula and Patrice Kenny, who both wanted to create a facility that would embody the the Crossfit ethos of community-based training, supporting and encouraging individuals and teams to achieve their goals.

Crossfit is for everybody. As the girls say: "It is movements that we do, as humans, everyday of our lives from sitting down to standing up (squats) to picking something up from the floor (deadlift) to putting something on a high shelf (press). We take those movements and add some resistance and increase the intensity, so that we will still be able to perform them in old age."

Everyone knows that exercise is good for the body as a whole, from helping with sleep, releasing 'happy hormones' for mental wellbeing, as well as the physical benefits of cardiovascular health and an improved physique.

Come along to Crossfit Croí Open Day on Saturday, February 25 from 11am to 3pm, take a look around and speak with the coaches who will be on hand to help guide you to class which suits you.
