Two Bealnamulla housing estates to be taken over by council

Roscommon County Council is planning to take charge of the roads, footpaths and public lighting in two Bealnamulla housing estates by the end of this year.

The two estates which are to be taken in charge by the local authority are Monksfield Park estate and Mill Race estate.

In response to a question from Cllr John Keogh to the March meeting of Athlone Municipal District of Roscommon County Council on the timeline for the taking in charge of both housing estates by the council, he was told they were both on tender for works to be completed for the taking in charge.

The council response said it is forecast that both Monksfield Park and Mill Race estates will be “advertised and brought to the Municipal District meeting at the end of the year.”

Cllr Keogh also asked when the water in and water out service in the two Bealnamulla housing estates is to be taken in charge by Uisce Eireann, and again he was told by way of Council response that this is due to come before the MD meeting by the end of the year.
