While the drama festival itself runs from April 27 to May 5, the film festival will take place in advance, on Saturday, April 22.

In Athlone's IMC Cinema at 8pm that evening six short films will be screened followed by a panel discussion with some of the directors and producers involved.

Tickets are just €5, and can be booked online here.

A two-hour workshop on short film writing, with Rachel Moloney, is also scheduled for 2pm on the same day, in the Radisson Blu Hotel, and it can be booked here.

The six short films being shown at the festival are: All Alone Here; Not My Sister; HUM; You're Not Home; Agape; and Eggshells.
