Flooring Porter winning at Cheltenham in 2022

Flooring Porter aims to bounce back at Aintree

Local owners of Flooring Porter will be hoping the horse bounces back from defeat in the Paddy Power Stayers Hurdle in Cheltenham when it lines out at Aintree this afternoon.

Owned by the Flooring Porter Syndicate, with members from South Roscommon and East Galway, Flooring Porter was unable to reel off a hat-trick of Stayers' Hurdle victories last month when finishing fourth at Cheltenham.

The Gavin Cromwell-trained eight-year-old is third favourite for the Grade 1 JRL Group Liverpool Hurdle over three miles and half a furlong today.

Flooring Porter finished second in the same race in 2022.

Flooring Porter's preparations for the Cheltenham were hampered by an injury during the build-up, and connections will be hoping the horse improves on the back of last month's race.

The race is off at 3.35pm
