Local shop set to move business online

A popular local shop has announced that it will close its 'bricks and mortar' store in the coming weeks and move business online.

After nearly nine years trading in Sean Costello Street, Stitch ‘n Knit said it had decided with a "heavy heart" to close the store and move business online.

They will continue to trade via https://stitchnknit.ie/

"We have always strived to give you the best experience possible in store. We have tried to replicate this experience by creating a beautiful website for you to enjoy browsing.

"Thank you so much for your continued support while we and you move from the on-street to our on-line store," a message on the shop's Facebook page said in recent days.

The Sean Costello Street wool and haberdashery shop was very popular with crafters, sewing and knitting enthusiasts. It also specialises in personalised embroidery and printing which will continue in their online shop.

It's another blow to the 'bricks and mortar' retail landscape following the recent closure of Grace's boutique in nearby Mardyke Street after several decades of trading.
