Athlone's rugby star and top singer drop by local primary school

Despite Leinster's disappointing loss to La Rochelle in the Champions Cup final on Saturday last, Athlone's rugby star Robbie Henshaw took time out in the days that followed to visit a local school.

St Mary's NS in Athlone was delighted to welcome Robbie on Tuesday last, May 23, to meet several classes where he took questions from students about his career and his life in rugby.

In other good news, the school entered the Iradio school's competition to have Lea Heart visit the school to perform for staff and students and they won!

The young Kildare singer-songwriter first rose to prominence in June of 2020 when, during lockdown, she shared her soulful covers as well as heartfelt originals on her Tik Tok page, which now has over 104K followers.

The children had a fantastic day and many went home starstruck after the performance.
