Date announced for upcoming Athlone Boat Club regatta

Athlone Boat Club's annual regatta, at Coosan Point, will take place on Saturday, June 17.

The club said the event would get underway at 8am that day, and there will be a food tent on hand as well as lots of racing to look forward to.

"This is our biggest event of the year and one of Ireland's largest junior rowing events," said club PRO Padraig Hegarty.

Last year's regatta was attended by over 27 clubs, from across the four provinces of Ireland, with an impressive 117 races taking place on the day.
